Birdsong cottage is a 100-year-old house that has a fascinating history. It has housed owners ranging from the manager of the local mill and his Japanese workers to, at one point, a chapter of Hell’s Angels motorcycle club. More recently it became one of the premier bed and breakfast premises on Vancouver Island, complete with meticulously executed decor, comfortable beds and marvellous gourmet food. Adjacent is Castlebury Cottage (where the millworkers used to bunk) which has been transformed into two medieval luxury suite.
